The person in this role will be part of a team that is responsible for the company’s payroll processes and will also provide assistance in other areas of the Finance Department. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with the ability to learn quickly and work effectively in an evolving and fast-paced work environment. This role will eventually grow into a management position.
We are looking for a tech savvy Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join their growing team. We are looking for someone who wants to grow into a Manager down the road. This person will be supporting the HR Manager on processing Payroll using Sage system Optimum (off season up to 600 employees, in season up to 1000 employees). This role requires excellent troubleshooting and system experience. This person will also be involved in benefits 401k, COBRA, and FMLA in addition to assisting with quarterly tax filings.
Responsibilities: Verifying and processing monthly/weekly payroll for multiple entities, running reports, quarterly tax filings, assisting with the year-end W2 process and other year-end related projects. Benefits administration along with monthly reconciling of benefit vendors. Keeping up to date with new payroll laws/regulations. Assist with various accounts payable functions (i.e. filing, invoice date entry, weekly check runs).
Obtain vendor W-9’s/insurance certificates and maintain vendor files.
Assist the Finance team with projects on an as needed basis.
Requirements: 4 years of relevant experience
Organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
Oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with professionals at all levels, both inside and outside the company.
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and manage competing priorities.
Ability to effectively manage time and meet all required deadlines.
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Preferred
Experience using the following systems: Sage 100, Payroll systems premise based and/or outsourced.
