Responsibilities for Security Engineer
Analyze security systems and seek improvements on a continuous basis
Lead security responsibilities that include firewalls, proxy systems, logging and other security devices.
Report possible threats or software issues
Research weaknesses and find ways to counter them
Develop and maintain security policies
Assist in the enforcement of the security of the firm
Design trainings for all employees
Looking For People Who
Have deep knowledge of security monitoring, log aggregation, alert structures, and managing SIEM implementations
Have specific familiarity with Splunk, machine learning, and large-volume log data management
Web application security: general web app protections and behaviors, WAF implementations, responding to behavioral anomalies, and proactively securing a large and dynamic application perimeter
Hands-on incident response experience: keen familiarity with IR processes, tools, and investigatory techniques (e.g., log review, forensic approaches, etc.).
Day-in/day-out experience with virtualization platforms, IaaS/PaaS providers, and SaaS security – we are all-cloud, all the time
Familiar with SAML, SSO solutions, and authentication & authorization solution best practices
Experience developing in Linux and Windows operating sys
Exposure to Ansible, and large-scale server automation
A general aptitude for solving problems. Above all, we value a Get [Stuff] Done attitude.
Certifications including CEH, GSEC, Splunk and similar are a plus
Qualifications for Security Engineer
Certifications in security such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or GIAC
Expertise with security frameworks (ISO, NIST, COBIT, PCI, etc.) and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, FISMA, SOC2, etc.)
Experience with security compliance testing
Knowledge working with cloud computing; preferably AWS
Knowledge of agile development and continuous deployment
Good writing and communication skills
Previous startup experience
Bachelors in Computer Science, related field or equivalent demonstrable experience
